Ureteroscopy (URS)

For the treatment of small to medium-sized kidney stones in any region of the urinary system, ureteroscopy (URS) is the recommended technique.

If you feel pain when peeing or suspect you have kidney stones, your doctor may recommend a ureteroscopy. It’s a treatment that detects — and in some circumstances, corrects — issues with your urinary system.

Your doctor will introduce a tiny, flexible scope into your bladder and ureter during ureteroscopy (the tube that carries urine from your kidneys to your bladder). They can check for kidney stones or other symptoms of disease this way.
