Flexible Ureteroscopy

A Flexible Ureteroscopy is a technique or examination that uses a ureteroscope. A ureteroscope is a device that is used to see into the urinary system.
A flexible ureteroscope is used to view the ureters, which are the tubes that transport urine from the kidneys to the bladder, beyond the bladder.
The doctor may see a stone in the ureter and fracture it with the Swiss LaserClast utilizing the flexible ureteroscope.
A laser beam is shone through the laser fiber, which is introduced into the ureteroscope’s working channel and up to the stone. The stone will be broken up into tiny bits of dust, which can be removed with a basket or pass through the body in urine.
